New Look

Monday, February 16th, 2009

As you can see, I’ve changed my blog template a bit. I was inspired by Rita’s new blog headers that she created. She is so very talented with everything she does. She has created some amazing actions too! Make sure you send her a donation if you can! She does all of this for free out of the kindness of her heart! People like her are few and far between these days!

I’m already behind on my project 52!  I’ve taken pictures but haven’t processed them yet.  I plan to catch up this week!

Beautifully Innocent

Last week Sarah had a playdate with a friend she hasn’t seen since November.  They attended dance class together, and I have known her mother for a few years now.

Sarah and V met when they were just babies at the Mother Goose program put on by the Ontario Early Years centre.  Obviously that is where I met V’s mom too!  I have a group of mommy friends I met through the program, however, most of the children are boys.  V is the only girl friend her age that she likes to play with.

V is very much a girly girl, more so than Sarah.  V must wear a dress every day and has her ears pierced.  Sarah thinks this is just awesome, as you can see in the picture.  She was fascinated by the earings and of course asked to have her ears pierced.  When I told her that it hurts to have them done, she quickly backed down!

Sarah seems to be in such a rush to grow up.  She was looking at makeup today and asked if she could have some.  I explained that it’s for older girls and she asked how long it would take to become a grown up.  I told her not to grow up too fast and that I liked her just the way she is!  Beautifully Innocent!

Week 4

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

This week I let someone else use my camera! There are only two people who I will let use my camera – my husband and my dad. This week my dad got the prestigious honour! I did have to remind him to put the strap around his neck, to which he responded “I’m not going to drop it!” Famous last words I say!

No, he didn’t drop it, but he did snap this great picture!

The kids and I spent the last few days at my parents’ house helping my mother recuperate from surgery which she had on Tuesday. I would have taken a picture of her, but she wouldn’t have allowed it! Being with her this week made me realize how strong of a woman she is. She still wanted to help cook breakfast, lunch and dinner and keep the house clean, to which we promptly told her to sit down and relax.

By Saturday she was doing much better and I felt comfortable coming home. She has a home nurse who visits every few days also. She’ll have to go in for a follow up appointment at some point to find out if the Cancer spread anywhere, but we’re fairly certain it didn’t, since it was caught so early.

Explaining surgery to a three year old is interesting too. Mom told my daughter that she had to be gentle when giving hugs and kisses, to which S took that to mean “don’t touch me, you’ll hurt me!” Mom eventually did get a hug out of her though!

So now we’re back at home, looking forward to the coming week. Apparently we’re going to see the sun 3 days this week! I’ll be sure to post the happy dance pictures!
