Trimming the Tree

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

We, er I, have a rule in the house – the Christmas Tree does not go up before my birthday.  My birthday was yesterday.  Usually we wait until the following weekend but with the baby due in the next two weeks, I felt it better to get the tree up sooner than later!

This year was fun because our daughter has a better understanding of what is going on.  She did think that putting up the tree meant that today was Christmas Day.  She was a bit disappointed when we told her it wasn’t!

Of course I documented the afternoon…

Finally the good part!

And last but not least, the angel on top!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy!

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing this little guy on October 18!

His mom had him dressed in the cutest jeans and Oshkosh shirt!  We got a few pictures of him in the outfit, but he wasn’t quite feeling the mood.  We decided to take him upstairs to undress him and oh boy was he ever happy after that!

He was such a doll to work with.  It was so easy to get him to laugh and smile, especially with the help of mom and dad!  All the laughing, smiling and playing took a toll on him and he eventually fell asleep.  There’s nothing easier to photograph than a sleeping baby!  Mom had a cute wagon which he fit perfectly in!

He only slept for about 20 minutes but it was enough to refresh him for the last stretch of the shoot.  Of course, us undressing him again probably woke him!  Oops!

This was my first baby shoot and it was such a pleasure!  Mom and dad were a great help.  I couldn’t have done it without them! Thank you so much mom and dad!

They were both so happy with the pictures which made me very happy too.  I have been thinking about how God has given me this gift of photography, and if I am using it for His will.  When I get this kind of feedback from my clients, I know in my heart that He is working through me to make their lives happy!

Baby is being baptized this weekend.  I hope that the joyous event goes off without a hitch, and that God will watch over C all the days of his life as he enters into this relationship with God.
