Fall Fun!

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

While I am sad to see that summer has left us, I look forward to the beauty of autumn!  The kids enjoy playing in the leaves so much, and the beautiful colours make even the cold air worth withstanding to get some nice pictures!

Now, if only it would stop raining every time I schedule an outdoor photo session!  At least I got a few of my kids yesterday!

Happy Birthday!

My dear, sweet daughter turned 4 years old on Friday!  I can’t believe how fast she is growing up!  She started school this past week also.  Where has the time gone?  I think I feel myself welling up again!  We’d better look at some pictures!

Here she is on her first day of school:

In she goes!

On to her birthday – opening her presents.

And of course, the official photo session!

My Precious!

I ordered a new lens and it arrived today!  I’ve only taken a few pictures so far (read 25) and I am already in love with it!  Here is a first sample:

This lens is going to be great for portrait sessions!

My favourite subject!

Friday, September 12th, 2008

My favourite subject, of course, is my sweet daughter.  She was born September 11, 2005 after 28 hours of labour, but who’s counting!  Never in my life did I imagine I would have such a perfect piece of beauty to photograph.  Sometimes taking her picture is a challenge, depending on the mood she is in:

But other times, she’s the perfect model, posing so naturally as if the camera isn’t even on her!

Each day I thank God for bringing her into our lives.  She is going to be a wonderful big sister in December.  She is already so excited about having a baby brother!  I just hope that she realizes he’s not a toy!

Undoubtedly, she has been subjected to many practice photoshoots.  It’s no wonder she cringes when I pull out the camera these days!  I respect her wishes though and won’t photograph her if she says no.  Some days she says “take my picture mommy!” and how can I resist?

I would love for her to have the photography bug that I have.  She does like to try to take pictures, but hasn’t really shown a genuine interest yet.  That could change one day, but for now, she can just remain my favourite subject!
