Meet Warrior Dalan! {Hanover Family Photographer}

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Tonight I had the honour of meeting the Frook family, and their son Dalan.  Dalan is a courageous boy who is fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He was diagnosed at the Age of 5 and has been undergoing treatments for the last two years. He is doing remarkably well and has one year left of treatment. His last treatment day will be July 7, 2011 and from what mom Robyn told me, it will be a day to remember for sure!

Robyn and her husband Dwayne keep a journal of Dalan’s journey at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/dalanfrook.  Please take a moment to visit the website to hear the latest about Dalan.

Dalan has a wonderful big sister Brontae who has the most beautiful blue eyes!  It was such a pleasure to photograph them all for the Littlest Heroes Project.  I hope they enjoy their sneak peek!

And of course, caught the kids having some fun!

Noah – A little hero with a big heart! {Brantford Family Photographer}

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Today I had the pleasure of travelling to Brantford, Ontario to meet a special little boy named Noah.  Noah’s mom registered with the Littlest Heroes Project that provides free photo sessions for children struggling with some sort of difficulty in their life.  I spoke to Noah’s mom approximately last week to find out a bit more about Noah.  She told me he is a “happy, go-lucky child” and she was not kidding!  Noah was great from the get-go!  In fact he was such a natural that I barely had to direct him, as you’ll see in these images!

I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity.  Melody, it was wonderful to meet you, Noah and your family.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Giving Back!

I have recently applied to be a photographer for the Littlest Heroes Project.  The Littlest Heroes project provides a free photo session to children under the age of 21 who are dealing or have delt with any type of serious illness, children who have been a part of any type of serious illness resulting in illness or disability, photo sessions for families who have lost children within the last 3 years due to a serious accident or illness.

Children are such an important part of my life.  Every child is beautiful and special in their own unique way.  Nothing warms my heart more than to see a beautiful smile on the face of a child, especially one that was caught naturally!

Stay tuned!  Hopefully I will be able announce my acceptance very soon!
